sell out for veggies!

"Dear Ask Alison,
Can you recommend ways to get my kids more interested in healthy eating? They are 4 and 9.
Thanks!
~ Nicole A.- St. Peters
Team FNV is my new social media obsession! Sponsored by the Partnership for Healthier America, this celebrity-endorsed campaign parodies the big-business branding of healthy food and encourages users to "sell out" for fruits and veggies. It's easy and fun to use, especially for kids. When I showed my 5 year-old, he was so excited to see his name in lights that he wanted to do it 3 more times!

Sell out by building a "contract" to promote healthy eating. At the end, you can see your name in lights (no personal info or money is collected):

For older kids, be sure to visit the Team page for endorsements from celebrities, athletes, and musicians- all promoting fruits and veggies!

You can also browse their "products," which are generic fruits and veggies in all colors of the rainbow! I love the way they've merchandised this healthy food on the page and make it look like an exciting product for kids to choose.

At the end, I had a contract with myself promising to eat more fruits and veggies and spread the word with others. There are lots of ways to win free merchandise by sharing their hashtag (#teamfnv) on your own social media pages. Check it out! http://www.fnv.com/

To help promote healthy eating, we've teamed up with the St. Charles County Health Department to offer a Nutritional Story Time at the library. Click here to learn more: Healthy Eating Story Time

And be sure to check the Library calendar for tons of healthy family events this summer at your Library!
