"Dear Ask Alison,
I need to lose weight. I try to diet and eat better, my biggest problem is the more serious I get about getting thinner I get depressed when I don't see results or overwhelmed by guilt every time I give in to that sweet. Is there any advice you can give to help me conquer the fear of failure so I can lose weight?"

Walking up to the Battlegrounds, my stomach was in knots. My inner voice said: “You can’t even do a pull up, how are you going to scale that 12 foot tall wall?! Seriously, you are going to fail and look ridiculous.” With all these lies I was telling myself, this battle was going to be a mental one as much as a physical one. My mantra was: Break out of your comfort zone. Face challenges head on. Know your limits. Trust your ability. You Have to Commit.
Many of the physical barriers in achieving healthier living are really mental ones. Best wishes on facing your own battleground!
A big Thank You to Jason Rulo, member of Battle Corps at The Battlegrounds at Cedar Lake and personal trainer with Assault Fitness for his patience and encouragement and for helping me discover muscles I didn’t know I had!
